Buffalo Public Schools

Project Name: Buffalo Public Schools
Location: Buffalo, NY
Issue: Typical Energy Loss Deficiencies Throughout Large City School District
Solution: Installation of Door Weather Stripping, Joint and Window Perimeter Sealants, Eliminating Air Infiltration

Located in western New York’s Erie County, Buffalo Public Schools is comprised of sixty six buildings spread throughout the city. Though not typical of our usual design-build approach to a project, ECP was asked to bid on a provided scope of work encompassing twenty six of the sixty six buildings.

Once selected to complete the project, we approached the project as any other. Thoroughly reviewing the provided work scope prior to construction, ECP concluded that specific measures inadequately addressed air infiltration issues found throughout the buildings. Staying true to our philosophy of doing what is best both for our clients, and the buildings themselves, our work crew properly implemented the measures at no incurred expense to our client.

Working in conjunction with local union shops across two separate building trades, our project management team coordinated the construction effort to efficiently utilize our own manpower along with the local workers over the course of the project. Onsite training of the local workers by our experienced foremen proved critical as we navigated the twenty six district buildings while working between the trade disciplines.

The success of the project was based on the mutual trust between ECP and our client. Presented with our expert opinion, our partner knew we would place the customer’s best interests above any other. Correctly addressing the deficiencies at no added cost to the client, we were able to implement the measures to create more energy efficient buildings for the school district.
